Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 launched !!
At the end of 2020, Qualcomm announced its latest and strongest processor ever made.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G was the processor that was announced and after one month of the announcement, Qualcomm had launched its new flagship processor.
Yesterday i.e, 19 January 2021 Qualcomm announced its new processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G which is said to be better than last year's flagship chipset the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G.
Qualcomm 870 5G had made its place between Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G.
This chipset has the same GPU Adreno 650 as Snapdragon 865 but the GPU is slightly better and boosted in Snapdragon 870.
It is also based on 7nm fabrication technology same as Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and 865+.
The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 will have Qualcomm Kryo 585 CPU prime which enables the chipset to be boosted up to 3.2 GHz.

Smartphones having this processor are expected to release by the first quarter of 2021. As vice president of Qualcomm, Kedar Kondap said "Snapdragon 870 will power a selection of flagship devices from key customers including Motorola, iQOO, Oneplus, Oppo and Xiaomi"
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 still remains the fastest processor of Qualcomm and Snapdragon 870 is just a little downgrade of Snapdragon 888 and an upgrade of Snapdragon 865
Specs of Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 will be powered by Kyro 585 CPU prime cores which will be boosted up to 3.2 GHz.
- This processor is based on 7nm fabrication technology.
- It can support up to 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM
- 4k resolution display having 60 Hz screen refresh rate and QHD+ (2k) resolution display having 144Hz screen refresh rate is also supported
- In the connectivity, it supports both sub-6GHz networks and mmWave networks
- It has a downlink speed of 7.5 Gbps and an uplink of 3 Gbps.
- The chipset also has WiFi 6 support.
- 200 MP single camera support
- 25 MP Dual camera support
- Can record videos up to 8k at 60fps and in 4k at 120fps.
- NFC supported.
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G is an Octa-core CPU and is based on 64-bit CPU Architecture
